London Store Closure

William Evans to consolidate in Bisley

London store to close

William Evans founded his company in 1883. He cut his teeth working for both James Purdey and Holland & Holland before setting out on his own. On 23rd February 1944 a bomb destroyed the premises on 63 Pall Mall and the company relocated around the corner to 67a St James’s Street. This has been the home of William Evans ever since.

In 2007 William Evans opened a second site on Bisley camp. With a company so steeped in the history of British gun making the opportunity to operate from the home of British shooting was simply too good to pass up. The site oozes shooting history and boasts facilities for every possible form of shooting discipline. It is ideally located in Surrey close to both London and Heathrow airport.

As the lease to our London store comes to an end in early 2026 it has been decided to consolidate the business in our store at Bisley Camp. The relocation sale in London is already well under way with some clothing reduced by 50% and we urge our loyal customers to take advantage of these offers before they are gone!

The final day of trading in London will be Saturday 31st January. Following this we will be continuing the range of great offers in offering at Bisley from 3rd February onward.

Some Important Information for Our Customers

Storage Guns

We are pleased to say that the storage facility in London will continue with the new occupant. They have kindly agreed to maintain the William Evans rates for 6 months from 1st February.

You will soon be receiving a full and final settlement invoice from William Evans which we would appreciate if you could settle as soon as possible. Certain customers that have long outstanding invoices may find their guns are relocated to Bisley. The new tenant at 67a St James will be in touch shortly with their own terms and conditions for signature.

Obviously, we would be happy for any customer who no longer wishes to store their guns with us to come and collected their firearms, preferably before the end of the month.

Collection by appointment

The London premises will be closed temporarily whilst refurbishment takes place in February and March so any customers wishing to deposit or collect guns will need to do so by appointment.
