Service & Repair

William Evans are specialists in Gun and Rifle Repair and Restoration. Our experts work hard to provide the same level of quality in repairing a 100 year old gun as they do when making a new William Evans. Each gun is inspected by the Gun Room Manager on return from the workshop to ensure that the customer's requirements have been met and that high standards are maintained.

We offer our clients a complete service from the straight forward annual ‘strip & clean’ to the more major work of re-barrelling and re-stocking. Our gunroom will give a free appraisal of the condition of the clients’ guns and advice on work that needs to be carried out. Many minor repairs can be completed in just a few hours.

The work that is done on the guns is carried out by our ‘in house’ gunsmith, Gordon Swatton who works from our William Evans in Bisley. Gordon began his career at the age of 15 when he became the apprentice for Jennings and Graves in 1971. Since that time, he has worked for countless gun factories, to name a few Beretta, Rizzini, Gavi, Arietta, Zabala, Tikka and Sako.

In our shop in Bisley Shooting Camp, Gordon performs all aspects of gun repair, from basic servicing and gun fitting to major mechanical works. At William Evans we are incredibly proud and extremely fortunate to have such a qualified gunsmith.

Clients can bring their guns to our London shop, where they are sent to Gordon for repair and servicing if necessary.

Gordon is on site five days a week at our Bisley shop, and is always happy to offer advice.
