Game Fair 2011, Blenheim Palace

This year the Game Fair was held at Blenheim Palace from 22nd July to the 24th.

At William Evans we expanded our area separating the guns and retail which worked fantastically. The weather was great and we were kept busy throughout the whole weekend.

A huge thank you to Sally and Kevin Traverse-Healy who produced incredible breakfasts and dinners on the barbeque each night! They really kept our moral high!

Looking forward to next year and have been promised a proper changing room, which will delight many of our customers who changed in a pop up tent!

William Evans Sponsors Charity Clay Day

June, 2011

William Evans sponsored a clay charity shoot. The photo is of Edward Tyrwhitt-Drake our Gunroom Assistant in London shooting the William Evans St. James over and under shotgun.

JOIN WILLIAM EVANS AT THE STARLIGHT CHARITY SHOOT, HIGHCLERE CASTLE FRIDAY 10TH JUNE

William Evans will be sponsoring one of the Stands at this annual event at Highclere Castle and which is now in its 15th Year.

Thirty teams of four guns will shoot five simulated clay sporting “drives” each replicating different species of game birds over the 7,000 acre Highclere estate. Each team will have the opportunity to shoot a minimum of 1,000 birds on the day so all participants should have a modicum of shooting experience! There are no individual scores kept, just a team score. Any team which elects to use the new William Evans St James’s Over & Unders or Pall Mall side by sides at the William Evans Stand, will have their scores doubled!! The shooting is run by The Really Wild Clay Company, which guarantees a challenging day’s shooting.

Starlight Charity Shoot

10th June 2011, Starlight Charity Shoot

Everyone had a fantastic day this year at Highclere Castle with the annual shoot competition and auction all in aid to raise funds for the invaluable charity Starlight. Starlight works endlessly granting wishes for children who are seriously or terminally ill and providing entertainment in hospitals all over the UK. Starting 25 years ago and helping 4 children in its first year, Starlight can now help 500,000 children in just this year alone.

William Evans was delighted and proud to be a sponsor at this year’s charity shoot. 24 teams took part and each of our Pall Mall and St. James guns fired over 2000 cartridges!

All in all it was a terrific day with an unbelievable £106,000 raised from the auction, with a total net figure for the day of £150,000.

Be sure not to miss next year which takes place on the 31st of May 2012.

Grulla day

12th October 2010, Grulla Day

‘This day gave Grulla owners an opportunity to meet Jose Luis Usobiaga and his son Inigo, who now manage the family-owned business and are building our own William Evans branded ‘Pall Mall’ side by sides, available in all gauges. Grulla has built an enthusiastic client base in the UK. One of them is Ralph Percy, 12th Duke of Northumberland, who first came across Grulla guns whilst shooting in Spain. The Percy family now own two ‘trios’ and two pairs of Grulla 12 bores!’
